The SME Advisory Council for Kay Nou consists of an accomplished group of professionals whose expertise spans multiple fields critical to the organization’s mission. These subject matter experts (SMEs) serve as both strategic advisors and active contributors to Kay Nou’s initiatives.
Roselene Alexis, Esq. J.D., LL.M

- Solutions & Resources: Provides legal and strategic support to members by structuring contracts and transactions, resolving disputes, guiding entrepreneurship and economic development initiatives, and facilitating partnerships to support sustainable business growth and development.
- Bio: Roselene Alexis is an accomplished corporate attorney and sustainability specialist with over 18 years of experience. She holds a J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and an LL.M. in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law from the University of Houston Law Center.
Roselene is the Founder and CEO of Efikas, LLC, a sustainability and transaction advisory boutique with offices and representations in US, Caribbean and Latin America, Africa, and Europe. Efikas provides clients with a broad range of expertise, including legal, technical, business, finance, accounting, and tax services. Roselene is also the Managing Attorney at Efikas Law, PLLC, where she specializes in developing, negotiating, and executing complex international trade and commercial transactions, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic partnerships, and capital projects. Her work at the intersection of law and sustainability enables her to effectively solve problems, assess opportunities, facilitate strategic decisions, and close deals for her clients.
As the visionary of the Kay Nou Model, Roselene will make the resources and support of Efikas and Efikas Law available to the members of Kay Nou. This includes providing legal and strategic support, structuring contracts and transactions, resolving disputes, and guiding entrepreneurship and economic development initiatives. Her dedication to sustainability and strategic partnerships will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and amplifying the collective impact of Haitians worldwide.
Exilus Louis Jr., B.B.A, J.D. Candidate

- Bio: Exilus is a first-generation Haitian American and the Co-Founder of Kay Nou. His upbringing instilled a profound pride in his heritage and a strong commitment to community empowerment. Exilus is currently a J.D. candidate at Howard University School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Management Information Systems from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business. Exilus has extensive experience in financial strategy and business optimization.
He is currently an Extern in the Division of Examinations at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as part of the SEC Scholars Program1. He is also Junior Consultant and corporate paralegal at Efikas, LLC, where he provides strategic and operational support to businesses, helping them optimize their operations and achieve their goals.
Exilus will integrate his expertise and experience to support Kay Nou’s mission. This includes offering financial models, operational strategies, and mentorship to enhance the efficiency and resource optimization of Kay Nou members. His dedication to community empowerment and sustainable development will play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and resilience within the Haitian community.
Dimitri Bien-Aimé

- Bio: Dimitri Bien-Aimé is a driven business development and marketing consultant with a strong background in international development and relationship management. He holds a joint Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Arts in International Affairs (MAIA) from the George Washington University School of Business and the Elliott School of International Affairs1. Dimitri also earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Jackson State University. Dimitri has extensive experience in business development, foreign investment, and strategic planning. He has worked in various roles that have honed his negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
His professional journey includes living and studying abroad, including in China, where he conducted extensive research and analysis on the impact of foreign investments. Currently, Dimitri serves as the Director of Strategy, Public Affairs & Sustainability at Efikas, where he focuses on delivering strategic advocacy and data-driven solutions to clients2. His work at Efikas involves providing actionable insights and knowledge resources that empower organizations to make informed decisions and bridge critical knowledge gaps.

- Bio: Dr. Carl is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in mental health counseling and advocacy. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Albizu University and has completed graduate training at the City University of New York.
Dr. Carl has a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches. As the founder of Positive Transformation Psychological Services, Dr. Carl has dedicated his career to providing tailored mental health services that address the unique needs of his patients2. Dr. Yves Abraham, LMFT

- Bio. Dr. Yves is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the founder of the Kingdom Mental Health Association. With over 20 years of experience in mental health, Dr. Abraham has dedicated her career to enhancing emotional well-being and strengthening family dynamics within the Haitian community and beyond.
Through the Kingdom Mental Health Association, she integrates clinical concepts with spiritual insights to promote a healthy mind and fruitful life. Dr. Abraham’s initiatives include organizing the Kingdom Mental Health Summit, where she brings together mental health professionals, community leaders, and individuals to address critical mental health issues. Her work focuses on providing culturally relevant and evidence-based psychological therapies, workshops, and resources to empower individuals and families. Sidney-Max Etienne

- Bio: Sidney is the visionary founder and director of Grown in Haiti, an initiative dedicated to ecological sustainability and community empowerment since 20141. Raised in Petite Goave, Sidney-Max developed a deep connection to Haitian nature on his family’s farm in Miragoane.
After honing his skills in Visual Communications in New York City, he returned to Haiti with a mission to restore the land and empower his community. Under Sidney’s leadership, Grown in Haiti has transformed landscapes by growing and distributing over 12,000 fruit-bearing trees, restoring soil health, and enhancing biodiversity. His efforts extend beyond agroforestry to include education and community resilience, establishing nurseries, building water systems, and providing emergency aid and educational scholarships.
Sidney’s work is guided by the principle “Ayisyen Pou Ayiti” (Haitians For Haiti), emphasizing the importance of local empowerment and environmental stewardship. Through his platform, Sidney will make the resources and support of Grown in Haiti available to the members of Kay Nou. This includes delivering workshops on sustainable farming practices, providing mentorship for rural development, and sharing resources to foster ecological and social resilience. By integrating his expertise and initiatives with Kay Nou, Sidney aims to enhance the collective impact on Haiti’s economic and environmental sustainability.
